i tried to join a lead main before the stop tap to copper one. The old tap had lead on the one side and a copper on the other. i cut the tap out as it had been painted and the fittings where seized and then took the lead back to a conviniance straight section, put in a normal copper to copper stop tap. i tried using a lead lock to connect to the lead problem was a 9lb lead lock was quite a bit to large and a 7lb one slightly to tight although even after trying to file down the outside of the pipe quite alot it wouldnt fit. What else can i try i wouldnt know how to sweat the joint and even if i did isnt it against water regs? Just to clarify its the water supply not gas.

cheers
