Hi! DML

One of the ways is to sweat in a brass liner to copper then you could fix plastic to that. If its a temporary job, a piece of copper waste pipe will do the same thing.

use a macalpine coupling the cheaper ones without the middle in are best for lead or use a stanly knife to cut the center out of a macalpine one may have to rasp the lead down or pack it out with tape depending on size
correct way is as previously said wipe in copper

i may just be lucky, all the ones i do just take standard compresion fittings?.
