Alright guys?

I don't really do any plumbing work but my mate has a leak from the bath waste. I've tried to remove it all to try and reseal but the plug part of the waste is stuck solid with silicone and the bath is quite thin so don't want to put too much force on it and end up breaking the bath. What's the best method to remove it without damaging the bath?

Cheers!

does the chrome bit turn that accepts the plug?

Everything below the bath has been disconnected, but there's no movement in the chrome bit for the plug.

I tried with a small flat head, but wasn't really budging.
Would a silicone removal spray work at all, does it cause any damage to baths?

Thanks guys, I'll try the two screwdriver attempt, see how I get on !

plumbers who use silicone don't realise the problems they cause and there's no need for it

People who use silicone on waste fittings is usually because there well experienced with the cheap seals that come with most wastes and know that there going to leak....

I started plumbing 40 years ago and silicone wasn't generally available, never used silicone to fix a leak or seal around a waste, even today, that's why this chap has a problem with his bath

Most of the old wastes I come to are filled with plumbers mate, silicones just replaced it for some people, on only use silicone for shower trays and basins though, as stated in the MI's for the shower trays I fit

Liking that 2 screw driver idea, least then your knife or screw driver does not go fast and furious!

Note for future use mcalpine waste.
