I have a performa 28 with a Grundfos U15 60 water pump fitted.
It yesterday developed a rather bad leak from what looks like the seal at the rear right of the pump body where it attaches to the copper pipe.
Do I need to replace the whole pump or can I just replace the seals. Is this a massive job?

if its on the pump unions then turn off the elctrics to the heating system close the to valves on the union and replace the washers. if its on the copper pipes goin into the unions then drain down the sytem to find out why the compreesion joint has failed.

If the pump unions are the gate valve type you should be ok
If the pump unions are the ballofix type, then drain down any way because the minute you turn the valves the usualy leak anyway

The leak is on the joint to the pipe that takes the water up into the burner is that makes any sense.

Drain your primary heating circuit. Remove the pump body and check the O ring seals for damage. Clean any dirt from around the joints on both socket and spigot. Replace the pump body ensuring the pump is pushed fully home on the seals, secure with the relevant bolt.
