Under my kitchen sink i have the normal waste pipe which has the washine machine attached, after the u bend it goes back down and then out to the drain, however just before it goes outside there is another waste pipe that joins from higher up and from which appears to be outside or behind the unit, the elbow of this joint has a small leak but i have no idea what this is for?

What's on the otherside of the wall that the leaking pipe is comimg from?

It's a condensate from your boiler, give a gas safe plumber a call and he'll sort it out for you. Or it's a over flow from something?

The only thing i can think of is the outside tap but other than that nothing else.

The smaller white pipe that goes into the black rubber bung is where the leak is?

Yeah it is your condensate, take it your boiler is near where the end of this pipe goes?

You will probably find that it is the condense waste from your boiler.
Locate the boiler and you would see a similar pipe disappearing along
the back of the units.

If you stop the boiler for a couple of hours until the drip stops then
you could dry the joint thoroughly and apply a leak sealer around it

the boiler is nearby, i did have a problem a few months ago where it wasn't working so i had to repressure it. this is about the same time as when we noticed the leak.
