Can any of my learned friends here recommend a good one? Are they any use for mickey mouse leaks? I've never had to use one yet but this is a flat with finished solid oak floors etc, only a small leak but they're sick of topping up the pressure and want it sorted. Thanks in advance

Only used a few times when as you say it's virtually impossible to locate. Fernox F4 does the trick if it's a little one.

Never used it,no mean it's just hiding a problem surely.

yea but people dont want to pay you for finding it, and they look up online and come across this magic stuff what fixes leaks :D

Neil K, It does work. Only as a last resort but it does and don't be afraid of using it if needs must.

Have used it before and it's fine on small leaks but feels like your masking the problem.

Have read somewhere before that it's not good to run through your boiler tho

clogs your heat exchanger (the newer type ones with lots of little holes

Only works if leak is very small, run heating for at least 20min to ensure spread through entire system then switch off so pressure in system is equal and leave for about four hours to do it's job. Make sure expansion vessel is all ok otherwise excessive pressure might cause more leaks.

Already changed expansion vessel and safety valve (nosy neighbour left filling loop cracked open and over pressurised the system, best intentions and all that). It's a very small leak, takes 3-4 weeks for pressure to go down.

what about installing an automatic filling loop rather than leak sealer?

what happens if the leak gets bigger :D causing more problems than its worth tbh

CT1 magic seal bit pricy average system (100lts) will need 4 tins, look on their web site plumbase starting to stock.

Used a few on account of being rubbish. CT1 is the daddy
Good to see some real life reviews of it
Saw the advertising screen in local merchants and it looks the dogs
Does it only work if the pressure is kept up, or will it still work once system has been drained down and refilled ?

Works on high or low pressure, cars etc. compatible with all inhibitors can be used on solar systems, But needs to be replaced if system is drained product has no shelf life (Can be kept in store indefinitely)
