Anyone ever had any system problems due to leak sealer? Had to go back to a boiler I fitted few months back, sounded like HE was full of air, I bled it through the PRV And got it running better but I'm not totally convinced it's cured, I'm wondering if the leak sealer has sealed up the AAV?

Proberbly more common than you think.....seal's on contact with air I believe regards Turnpin:smile5:

From my limited knowledge you are not supposed to put leak sealer through the boiler.

Terrible stuff. Causes all sorts of problems....especially with more recent boilers.
We are not permitted to use it and have no option but to look for leak.

Drop the pressure strip the AAV off and clean it.
I don't use it unless as a very last resort but tbh wouldn't think twice if i had to.
It creates a thin membrane on contact with air. Doesn't cause any lasting damage but is about as much use long term as dropping an egg white in your van radiator, ie it works until the cheque clears lol

Ive only used a sealer once as a last resort and it did work well stopping a leak on old pipes under a finished floor. Im servicing the boiler this week and ill have a good look at the aav.

Heard good reviews about this stuff Miracle Seal - CT1Ltd
works differently to usual sealers and apparently dosn,t block the system.

Well it turns out the problem was a blocked condensate, guy who helped me with the job thinks water Defies gravity, won't be using Him again!
