I'm hoping can shed some light on an issue i've came across with my boiler. Its pretty new, having only been installed a year ago but I noticed that down the side of the boiler itself are some real dirty stains as if its been leaking. The source actually looks like i'm guessing some kind of overflow so knowing next to nothing about plumbing/heating im wondering if this is meant to happen or not, though if it is i find it a bit bizarre that it just leaks out over the worktop like it does.

The boiler in question Worcester Greenstar Ri.

It looks like it's coming from the drain valve. Can you tighten it? If that doesn't solve the problem then the rubber seal inside may have perished which would require draining down your system to replace.

I'll try and see if tightening it does anything.

Failing that it sounds like getting in a plumber.

Thanks for the help.

Agreed, definitely looks to be coming from the drain off in the picture. See if you can turn the little square brass bit sticking out on the right hand side of the drain valve, it needs to be turnt clockwise to tighten it. Give it a go, if not you will need to drain down the system to deal with the problem.
