Hello all, got our bathroom stripped out an replaced over a year ago, about 3 months after the fit the first row of tile up from the bath cracked (along the grout).

It turns out the fitter has used adhesive instead of silicone to seal in the bath, the bath moved so the weight of the bath pulled the tiles off of the wall - is it normal to use adhesive to seal them in?

We have a mdf (waterproof stuff) panel along the length of the bath and also at the opposite end to the taps.

I need to figure out why its moving, after looking on here, I reckon its due to the bath not being supported?

Bath not fitted correctly either.

Strip it out and start again.

You can bodge and bodge but the correct way is to pull the bath out, dry the plaster, refit bath and seal tomplaster with appropriate silicon, retire and grout, then seal tiles to bath. What MDF are you using in a wet area and why?
