hi guys, you might want to read my other post first (level 3????).

ok after chatting to my uncle who is a gas man i am rather confused, i was looking at doing the G&G 6129 level 3 in plumbing but now im wondering if its worth doing this or just doing the core gas safety course and my acs instead.

i might do both but the level 3 is 2 years part time, and if it doesnt get you your gas stuff whats the major point? ooh i am confused lol.

not many have level 3. do your gas then level 3 later if you want.

sounds like a good plan sonray. what gas quals do i need for domestic work only. is it core gas safety, then acs, then ccn1 then ? ? ?

For domestic work you'll need a minimum of CCN 1 which is core gas safety plus tickets for the appliance types that you intend to work on. You will also need the flue gas analyser course if you intend to carry out servicing work on modern boilers. If you are intending to self certify boiler installations you also need the energy efficiency qualification.

The entry criteria for ACS is a lot stricter now so make sure that you qualify to go straight to ACS before making too much of a commitment.

Once you have obtained your ACS it's worth getting on a few manufacturers courses to familiarise yourself with their boilers if you intend to go down the central heating road.
