I am refurbing my bathroom & need to replace the dodgy main stopcock from the rising main. It is easily accessible and the job should be straightforward. I live in a first floor flat in a block of 6. When I contacted Yorkshire Water, to ask for a meter location, a rather shirty young man incredibly gave the response: "Why are you asking me?" and basically didn't want to go any further. I feel that this is unacceptable, and can't possibly personally undertake a mining expedition to turn over hundreds of square feet of grassed area surrounding the building, just to locate a water meter. What on earth do I do next?

Hi there, have you managed to find the meter? Hopefully one of our members can offer some advice if not

Contact them again and hope you don’t get the same guy
