Hi
My Ideal Logic + 30 boiler has today started leaking when on, from the left hand end by the pressure guage. I increased the pressure as It was less than 1 bar but still the water drips quite fast when the boiler is on.
I haven't checked the pressure for a long time. It was serviced less than a year ago.
The fill pipe is permanently attached - it has never been unattached and is too stiff for me to undo now.
Do I need to call someone to fix it? It is just under 3 years old.
Thanks very much

Does the pressure always decrease consistently on the gauge? If the fill valve and loop is attached it is advisable to have it uncoupled in case the valve fails, as this will cause water to keep passing from your mains into the central heating system. As for the leak, it could be from a number of sources and a qualified and experienced plumber will safely diagnose the source of the leak and hopefully fix it. Do not attempt to take the cover off and poke around for your own safety. Turn your central heating on, If the drip rate increases when the boiler runs then it could be the pump, at best it could be something as simple as the condenser trap/pipe leaking. Is the drip hot or cold? Is it slightly discoloured or viscous when rubbed between your fingers? If yes to either of those it is your central heating circuit. Advise calling an engineer, if you can tell them if the drip is hot water and/or discoloured this will give the engineer a better chance of knowing what he is looking for when he arrives. Time is money after all. Let me know the results.

As long as it's been properly fitted, commissioned and registered though JTS?
