I have a friend at a logic system the boiler had F1 flashing up so I told them to top up the pressure now it has C status up but it is not firing up. I told him to turn it off and back on again then it worked. Turned it off and back on again now it has stopped working again. Any ideas?

Could be a load of things , was pump runin was fan runin or just nothing? Stat turned up, ( this is catchin a lot of folks out at this time of year as there stats are all down and they forget to turn them up)

Thermister pooped , or blocked conny as it's got demand just not lighting up. Is temp on boiler turned up

Sticking zone valve as not been used in a while aswell sorry,

the fact that you have the c shows demand so its boiler not external controls does anything run?

Pump coming on but nothing else. Original fault before hand was faulty programmer linked out all worked ok it ran for an hour no probs. new programmer fitted came up f1 fault topped up pressure nothing only pump running, poss air in pump hence why I said turn it off and back on.

Now they have linked new programmer all working fine again.

What's the chances it's a programmer fault on both programmers even though the pump is coming on? I can't see it my self but the boiler is in warranty so they are getting ideal out.

I've never worked on a logic do they have a pump proving switch/ pressure sensor in them?

Flow sensor. Might be a dodgey 2 port and it's not getting the signal through programmer. This f1 fault?

I would check to make sure you are getting a good 230v on the switched live. I had a Worcester Greenstar Ri a while ago was going to ignition lock out. Turned out the Honeywell mid position valve was letting about 80v through, tricking the boiler to come on. But the voltage wasn't enough to continue through sequence. A new Drayton mid position valve sorted it. I know your situation is slightly different as you are asking it to come on, but it's the same principle, if the switched live doesn't have enough voltage it could leave the boiler in limbo.

I think it was just air, the person I was talking through the job took the new programmer off and put the old back in and it is still working. I live over 200 miles away but said next time I'm up I will have a look at it.
