Hi,

i had a plumber in to fit a bath in my house. He fitted it up to the wooden bar the tiler used to start his tiling.

As a result I now have a gap between the bath and the wall where the wood is exposed.

I have looked in a few merchants for some kind of PVC strip to cover the wood but had no success

can anyone suggest how i can get a good finish here please

thanks in advance

Go to a Upvc stockist, that do doors, windows, fascia boards etc, they stock flat trim of all sizes that will do.

Bath should have gone in before tiler started work! If the bath had been fitted properly (perfectly level in both directions) the tiler could have worked from the bath. Never gonna look right now I'm afraid!

Thanks for all the advice,

it's kinda complicated, friends and family etc.. Can't get him back,

kinda don't want to for various reasons

i think I'll need to make do with a trim for the foreseeable future probs be changed in a couple of years anyway, needs must.

i know it's a bodge but it has to be better than it is currently

Is there a shower above?
If its just used as a bath a plastic trim or quadrant tile trim should cover it up and its unlikely to leak.

Yeah, it's one of them,

it's all in place and if I move it it'll have that gap at the other end where the shower is.

Live and learn, next time ill know to get a professional.

I really do appreciate all the help though

Thanks for the link I may end up needing to. Lot if people saying a fix will come back to haunt me

With the bath being an inch away from both the side and back wall without any fixing or sealant then the bath could move a fair bit when being used......this could potentially cause major damage! Did the guy who fit this honestly think It looked alright???!!! Get a local plumber to have a look and do a proper job.
