ive seen a few like this , its not like it needs a clamp. probably put there as an addition like self tappers or tape

It weren't a criticism I was just asking , like I said I see a fair few where the extension goes into the elbow that are sealed with silicone , tapped or taped, obviously where the extension butts up to the elbow there collared
