Can someone please help me in how I can get in to metering contract the recruiter's all want someone with experience but there isn't any companies taking on trainees, I have some experience in meter relocation work but this the companies say its not enough.

tbh many guys and gals doing metering replacement are low skilled gas appliance wise, but most now do both gas and electric meters on the same visit. Cheaper to take on a monkey trained in this field than somebody they would have to spend time on i guess.

All companies want dual fuel meter fitters these days. Wouldn't say it was low skilled work though. The big energy providers will take you on as a trainee though if you really want to get into it.

It's low skilled in the sense that you don't need any appliance qualifications or electrical knowledge other then what is needed to change the meters and do visual assessments. It's not a low skilled job of course, but you don't need to use your noggin to do the work.
