hi guys this is my first post so be nice hah

Im a time served plumber with over 10 years experience. Just in the process of finishing my ACS exams but have stopped it, for the time being, because i feel im not getting taught enough. (just getting pushed through exams, which i found very straight forward)

not agreeing with this, i am looking to "shadow" engineers in my local area to gain experience in breakdowns, servicing and land lord checks.

i am self employed with own transport and insurance so im offering to help out on any job (plumbing) for free. all im asking is to watch engineers routines and share a little knowledge.

thanks for reading guys, hope youre all well

im from west yorkshire btw

I could come to shadow me, mostly my shadow falls on the floor of Gregg's or Burger King?
Good luck and well done for realising more to it than passing a few comprehension questions. I'm in Newcastle so way oot of the way.

cheers mate yeah i dont wanna pass with little to no knowledge on servicing like.

As a time served plumber you are a category 2 which means you need a portfolio of evidence to complete the course, is the training provider not supplying a contractor for you?

no not supplying me with a contractor.

I don't understand how these training places get away with doing training that can't be completed through to ACS if you don't get a portfolio done, I feel sorry for guys who get caught up in it ( do I mean get conned?)
The paperwork is watertight in that it isn't included and statements like "they will guarantee to Assit the candidate to get a contractor to complete their portfolio" which means hee haw, and if you don't get a portfolio you can't sit the exam and in effect lose the money as the training is worthless without the ACS

yes mate sucks dont it. was never mentioned when first enrolled and they took my money.

It will be private training centre rather than college (I hope)

id rather not "name and shame" ... just as usual if you want something done right ...

the safety training has been really good and i will pass the exam first time but would rather see engineers routines first before i finish
