I have an issue with a Honeywell two port motorised valve attached to the side of my megaflow. It emits a very very loud groan which lasts anywhere between two and sixty seconds. As soon as you push the lever on the motorised valve it stops instantly.

I have had had a new kitchen fitted recently and the only difference is a one foot longer rad in the dining room. I have replaced the motor on the valve which hasn't made any difference. I have bled all the rads in the house twice and still no joy.

i have spoken to two plumbers so far and they haven't heard of anything like this before, as it really is loud and reverberates round the entire house.

any ideas please?

many thanks

steve.

Maybe a coincidence the rad was changed, but the only thing you can do is take the actuator off and see if it can be operated easily by hand. Otherwise it's a drain down , take it off and have a look.
I used to be a massive Honeywell fan, but I change a lot more than I used to.

Has the system got a bypass? If not,That could make the noise you are experiencing.

What type/ make of boiler do you have?

also do you have megaflo, or another male od cylinder? I ask because that noise could be related to a different problem
