Hi All,

We have this recurring issue that we can recreate as follows.

Turn the hot tap on. Wait about 20 seconds. Massive vibrating noise happens. Turn off hot tap. Noise continues until the hot tank has been filled by more cold.

I have researched and it sounds like it may be water hammer, but every video I have watched on YouTube suggest that is like banging. The noise we have is like a belt sander or circular saw. It is so loud it can be heard easily around my house which is quite a big 5 bed house.

Any suggestions to what it might be please?

Thanks
Dan

Change ball valve on tank. Make sure you put part 2 ball valve in. Better design.

thanks , never knew about this, we recently replaced a bathroom and replaced there fortic cylinder along with a new pegler float valve , it was fine for ages and then suddenly the same symptoms as the O.P describes , stripped the valve down hoping to find something but nothing! everything clean as you would expect from a new item, refitted and it stopped making a noise, thought that was strange!! , how ever were now doing there kitchen and its started making noise again!! {3months later}, was going to put a PRV in when its time for 2nd fix as I was suspecting high pressure is contributing towards it but seeing your post probably best to change it...
