Hi
hope you guys can help......
I'm fitting a new bathroom suite and shower, but i have concrete floors.
My old shower tray was sitting on an 8 inch deep timber frame, so as to get the height required for the shower water to run downhill ,along under the bath, then into the bath waste pipe, before going through the cavity wall and into the cast iron down-pipe/stack.
I can see that my 40mm plastic waste pipe is around 5 inches above floor level, so ideally i'd like to hire a core drill and lower the waste pipe where it goes through the wall, which would then allow me to lower the new shower tray, so that it's not so much of a step out of it with wet feet.
I'm looking for advice on how to connect 40mm plastic to a three and a half inch diameter cast iron stack. The stack runs up into the guttering.
I've heard there are quick fitting couplings available, but i'm not sure exactly what i'd need?
Would it be possible for me to drill a completely new 40mm waste pipe hole in the cavity wall, *at floor level*, maybe 6" along from the original hole, then when the new 40mm plastic pipe exits the wall, could i use a 90degree elbow, together with a short straight section?
Could i then drill a hole in the side of my cast iron exterior stack, insert the new plastic 40mm waste pipe and silicone round it?
Here is a couple of pics, hopefully you'll understand what i'm talking about !
You can see where the small dia. cast waste exits the wall into the stack, just under the top 'collar' thing.
You can also see that the 40mm plastic waste could be lowered to floor level
Any info much appreciated.
cheers
