Gas Engineer

Hello All!
Seems politic to introduce oneself:
Name: Luke
Location: North Worcestershire
Age: 40
Background: Various semi-skilled jobs before a "career" of sorts in passenger transport ranging from driver to transport manager spanning 12 years...
Realised I did not want to do that forever (who would?!?) and opted to follow in my father's footsteps and get qualified as heating/gas engineer.
Been ACS qualified for just over a year now and, though it's probably not the typical model for someone in the trade, am happily combining various unrelated jobs with undertaking gas/plumbing for friends and family etc locally and referrals are slowly coming in...
Not about to pose a threat to the business of any serious contractors, just glad to be building my experience, hence joining this forum.
I have a "characterful" escort van of 1999 vintage (roof rack and everything!) and use a Kane 455 analyser.
Mostly undertaking boiler services; have been to the Worcester Bosch training school to get clued up on some of the models... Hope to learn from you more experienced types as time progresses and will do my best to contribute usefully when I can.
Especially hope to build my knowledge about heating and plumbing which is the old fella's original trade but most of my actual experience and training has been gas-based thus far.
So there we have it... Warts and all...
I hereby place myself at the mercy of the membership!
(*deep breath*)
