My boiler (4 years old and serviced regularly) stopped working last Tuesday and the flashing light combination sugested a problem with the air pressure switch. I called in a gas safe engineer and it turned out I needed a new fan. This was fitted successfully yesterday and everything was great - for 24 hours. It's just failed again and it's obviously the same problem. I'm now stuck without heating again until Monday at the earliest and probably the middle of next week. Having found this forum I'm putting out a plea - Is there anyone out there who knows what the underlying problem might be? If this new fan has broken then there must be something causing the failure and simply replacing it again will be pointless.
If anybody has any ideas I'd be really grateful as it might save a bit of time if I've picked all your brains by the time the engineer can get back. He's a great guy and certainly won't mind that I've asked for ideas.
