Hi,

A couple of weeks ago I went to turn the heating back on and realised the pressure on our combi boiler (Main 30 HE) was down to zero. After topping it up several times and it constantly losing pressure, I've hunted around for the last week and can't find any leaks, I've had the floor boards up and everything. The pressure relief valve drain is dry and the pressure doesn't rise above 1.5bar when system filled to 1bar.

After a google search I've seen that there was a similar post on this fine forum and the advice was that it was the recuperater (secondary heat exchanger). Looking elsewhere the advice is the expansion vessel.

Are there any simple tests I can do to help diagnose if the problem is in the boiler or in the pipework.

Just want to know what's wrong before calling in a pro, as if it's in the pipework I'll continue to hunt for the leak.

Many thanks in advance.

if you haven't had any problems with pressure until now then i doubt it's pipework. call an engineer as it's prob a fault within the boiler

Many thanks.

Anyone know anyone good with combi boilers in the Ashford, Kent area?

You're probably better starting a thread 'gas safe engineer wanted in Ashford' in the gas safety forum.
