Hi, i have a problem with a Main Combi 24 boiler (not the He version). I am getting ignition but the burner is shutting off after around 1-2 secs.

I have checked the air pressure switch and fan, which are both ok.

I then changed the flame rectification sensor and leads which seemed to cure the problem as the burner was stable for around 15 mins. But lo and behold I got a call the next morning to say the problem had returned.

I am suspecting either a PCB or a gas valve problem but don't know how to tell which one it could be.

Has anybody got any tips or suggestions for alternative causes?

Cheers

hi,
if you post your gas safe registration number then we can help via p.m, but not through an open forum.

It could be shutting off for a reason John not a fault :) Rule out flame & flue issues before anything else IMO :) Any flashing lights?

It was the PCB board as I suspected. Cheers for the help though. For the record it had no flashing light error codes, flues were clear, burner clean and air pressure switch was confirmed to be working.

I didn't know there was a gas Safe registered section to the forum but will see about registering for it, thanks.
