Good morning

Im looking for some help with my Main combi 24he boiler. Last week we got a flame failure flashing red on the boiler. It had happened before and normaly we just reset the boiler and it worked again.

Now when resetting it there is no change there is still the flame failure. We are lucky enough to have a plumber in the family and he came out to see what was the problem. He said that he thought it was the air pressure switch. So we brought one new from GD heating and plumbing in Derby and this still didnt sort the problem.

After some more time with the boiler we were told it was the PCB. We chnaged the PCB and still no luck. Still a flame failure on the boiler. After then our family plumber went back to the heating and plumbing in Derby and after a lengthy discussion brought a gas valve cable. This still has not sorted the problem.

Im really in need of the heating back with two young children and the parts are costing alot of money. Any advise would be great please.

Rather than use a family plumber have you thought about getting in a Gas Safe Registered Engineer who is qualified to work on appliances such as your boiler and you would not be spending lots of money on parts that are not required.

Please be aware advice cannot be given on an open forum unless you can prove that you are gas safe registered.

Wow.... You may as well have replaced the boiler.

Hi
I dont know if you are already up and running again but if you need some one to take a look i am a registered gas safe engineer quite close to your self ,my company is Gasfituk registration 521686.

They've stupidly spent all their money on parts they didn't need pal, presumably they now cannot afford the expertise they needed in the first place. Would laugh if it was just something that needed cleaning etc

I wouldn't say stupidly, bit harsh... more trusted the wrong person, but obviously he wasn't gas safe registered or experienced by his guess work.

I hope you get it sorted correctly soon.
