main combi eco

Went to a 1 year old main combi eco today as it was loosing pressure upon inspection found the condensate to be just ran under the floor in the bungalow who ever fitted it even had the condensate coming out of the floorspace into a gulley but the two were not connected really bad anyway the pressure loss was coming out of the condensate i didnt have time to strip the boiler down today so turned it off until monday when i will investigate the heat exchanger and connect the condensate has any one else come accross this kind of thing cheers

If heat ex Ray any chance of cover under warranty? Seen condensates before just piped under floor, not good, last one I saw had tripped all electrics due to cables in a junction box being soaked! Installer did'nt want to know, sorted with a soak way as no drain nearby....

Told the customer to call main in the morning with the serial number could not beleive the condensate if he gets no joy with main i will be back monday to get it sorted is there a way he can ring gas safe with the serial number to see who fitted it as it was fitted before he bought the property

I bet it was'nt even registered Ray so afraid not if this is the case, any benchmark? Sounds like a FUFO to me, best thing is help your customer out and take from there, does it look like a DIY or builder job?

doesnt look like a diy job the customer purchasd the house from barratts they took it part ex for one of thair new builds i would love to see the guy back to sort it the lady was crying when i left the house this evening hope the heat exchanger is covered on warranty

Makes the job harder when you care about what you do! Probably no inhibitor either
