hi, i really need advice, we have a black plastic cold water inlet pipe coming through the concrete under our kitchen sink. there is water seeping up through the concrete, this is beyond me can anybody help.
Keep an eye on it & see if it gets worse, could of been a drop of condensation ran down the pipe. Looking at the wet patch around the bottom of the pipe really looks like water has ran down it. If it spreads & gets bigger & the pipe is 100% dry, its time to start digging!
If it's not condensation as stated above, turn off your outside stop tap and start digging. Expose the pipe, turn on the stop tap a little to identify hole, turn off, cut out hole and take the bit to plumbers merchants for correct size philmac connector and inserts.
If it does resort to having to dig it out & you decide to do this yourselves, first make sure your outside stop tap is working, then start digging with the water still turned on. You'll know where the leak is as soon as you get to it, then turn off the water & deal with it from there.
They gotta be worth their weight in gold. So handy for exactly that, stopping dust entering an open end when drilling above or for feeding a length of pipe under floors. A million uses for these things.
