Hi Mike ,the "gain" of a pipe is not a term Iam familiar with .

that is what he means. it varies from bender to bender but there's an official C+G amount. it will be in one of the books you've got for your course, look it up. if you've not got books for your course, buy some.

if you do end up plumbing for a job it's something you'll never think about again.

Im currently on the C+G 6129 and as far as i know the gain on 22mm pipe is 22mm and 15mm for 15mm pipe.

Crikey. I remember in my engineering days we actually had to Calculate gain and the required force to produce it from first principles of bending and plastic deformation. based on the wall thicnkess, radius and material characteristics.

Hi, Yes, sorry I didn't word the question very well.
I know the gain on 15mm pipe is 25mm, the 6129 course I'm on seems to be doing things the hard way my college say's it's the way city & guilds want it done.
