ive fitted 7 boilers in a HMO the building had a new meter bank installed to facilitate the new boilers, the bank is all fed off a single pipe which then ts off to each meter ecv. 5 of the meter boxes had been installed befor i got there and the three remaining boxes were empty. One meter box was to remain empty as the flat it had been earmarked for was fitted with electric heaters and water heater, the other two boxes were to have meters fitted as soon as the tennant and landlord had arranged them. I piped the gas pipes to the most convienient empty boxes and thought no more of it, however today Eon sent around an engineer who im assuming was from wales and west? and he refused to fit the meter for the tennant as the pipework was to the wrong box????? am I missing something here surely the box is irrelevant? I wasnt on site and didnt speak to the engineer direct can anyone shed any light on this, Am I being a dingbat, should I have known the correct box, or is this engineer being a jobsworth? I spoke to Eon and they say the engineer reported no FJC or similar on the gas pipe entry ( I havnt connected to a meter union so was going to do this after)
