Hi,

I am moving a radiator and it's pipework into a very small extension. The pipework to the radiator flow and return is 8mm microbore. I want to cut into this and extend it. I've got to go behind plasterboard so it's going around the edge of the new room. Probably about 3m.

Will this provide enough heat to the new radiator in the extension?

Your input would be greatly appreciated!

depends on the total length of the run including the length of the legs from the main arterial flow and return to the first rad. also is it copper or plastic?

if copper the uk copper board have info on their website about heat delivery of different bore pipework and the max length to achieve full heat output. i think its about 6m for each flow and return.

can you not increase the pipework size?

i would increase the pipework to at least 10mm for the new pipe run.

Can the boiler cope with an extra rad? What kw rating is it? How many rads currently fitted? Will the expansion vessel cope with the added volume? U need to also think about these things.

Ur original question... It'll prob work but I'd upgrade to at least 10mm and defo do it in copper
