Just out of interest at the moment more than anything, i was wondering if anyone has experience of, or knows someone who has, gone to australia/new zealand to work in the plumbing trade?

any info appreciated.

Might be worth looking for expat forums. Just been to France on holiday and there's quite a large expat community out there in the centre of the country and there are English magazines, website links, etc. Can't imagine there's nothing for Australia/New Zealand so I'd assume there are a few forums around.

Castlemain XXXX ?

😎

Wonder what happens if you Google Shiela?

😉

plumber iknew went to new zealand few years ago for a year with intention of imergrating if he liked it. he was back within 6 months said pay crap compared to standard of living and like going back in time to the 50s.mind you that was about 10 years ago

u.k qualifications no good down there. be prepared to do a 2 year apprenticeship on crap wages, even if youve been plumbing for 30 years....

hi mate check out pomz in oz you will find lots of stuff in there that might be handy

See if you can check out a film called Kenny. About an Australian plumber. Good for a laugh.

If you have CG advanced craft cert or NVQ level 3 you will not need to do any futher training. I was thier in 1989 for 1 year and never needed to do any training as my CG A C was good enough.

i had a mate who is a sparky. he went over to NZ for a years experience just to try something new, 6 years later he still hasnt come back to the uk other than when he had to for passport and visa things, he says allthough the oay is less over there the prices are lower and the quality of life is better. alot more relaxed about stuff to. sadly to do plumbing over there u have to re take all quals as uk quals are not accepted over there or so he says,
