I can't be the only person having a bad week. Not a huge mistake but I'm ripping a bbu out and new combi in kitchen, didn't even think about how downstairs radiators were piped as 2 of them were off a drop so capped off boiler in ceiling and capped off 2 of the rads at the same time. So the day I'm meant to be having an easy day I'm moving a huge wardrobe and ripping up floorboards to reconnect the rads!!

Please make me feel better someone has got to of done something worse?

'Bad' is very much a relative term...
Seems to me like many plumbers are struggling for work at present so, perhaps, that means having something to complain about is better than not having something to complain about ;)
That all said, we ALL need to let off steam in this wonderful profession - and especially when dealing with the 'great unwashed' that are the general public :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Was a while ago on a new build 6 bed house. Spent a full Friday drilling joists and studs ready for 1st fix, came on Monday and sparky had been in on weekend and was delighted to see pre-drilled holes for his wires and finished his first fix in record time. When he came back midweek, found his wires in a nice tidy ball on back garden. Just gave him that " Go on, ferkin say summat!" look. Never apologised though.

I have had exactly the same happen to me.

Had the same. I didn't pull them out, I cut them out.

Pressure testing an old 7 bathroom care home ended nearly flooding the place due to old fittings and not soldered correctly

Open to sealed

7 joints in total gave me trouble nearly saw the ducks

Really, I’d say the opposite. Everyone seems to be flat out... there’s a lot going on.

But I suppose it’s area related

Doesn't appear to be. However, it may well be 'experience' related.
For example, during the recession I did pretty well overall. Perhaps that was because I was an established business?

So are you making your assumption, due to sales of your tap kits or hands on plumbing.... do you even do hands on anymore?

How did you go about pressure testing Shaun?
Hydraulic? If so a hand pump or snazzy electric Rems unit? I’ve considered a Rems.... bought they’re about £500

Not my mistake but I've had to alter two concealed shower valves this week after 2 joiners both cut the holes in the wrong place in the nuance shower panels. Both seperate jobs and both cut outs 100mm off

This was when I was still on the tools. I only started working on TapMedic full time in the middle of last year. I have a shower to seal tomorrow as a matter of fact. Some of my old dears, bless them, can't understand I'm no longer on the tools so I end up sorting them out - mostly for free

I've heard all their stories about how its taken them years to find someone they trust implicitly so I don't feel I can let them down.
Daft maybe but what do you do?

Keeps you fit I suppose.

I always connect up to mains fill up then pump the rest of the way.

Yep had to pump 5 times so was fecked by the end (due to not all leaking at the same )

The occupied ones are always 200 degrees and smell of urine
I hope I don’t end up in one

Bad ones are the dug hostiles
