Have any members found rubber long gaskets to replace the
white foam ones thatnew kitchen and bathroom mixers
come supplied with. Thanks, Dean.

I saw some on eBay a few weeks ago, but I think they have gone now. There is a company called Lunns which sell these, but they are rather expensive. Your local plumbers merchant may be able to help.

I use a cut out from laminate floor underlay (the grey "foam" stuff)

Really useful in all kinds of applications where rubber gaskets just dont compress

And from a sheet all kinds of shapes can be cut out

(Hmm think I'll go do an article on my useful tips and trade secrets page on my web site come to think of it)

Hello tamz, thanks for your replies in the past. The mixers I take off have had decent sized gaskets that didn’t need P.M. or s******e to keep out the showerhead left wedged behind the taps.Dean.
