Mixer shower options?

Hi all. What are my options for a mixer shower with a Y plan system? Shower pump?

Sorry I've mentioned it being Y plan so you know it's gravity hot.

gravity hot water from boiler to cylinder with no thermostatic control
central heating pumped ,controled by room stat and single motorised valve

hot and cold to shower from tank

pressure poor...you want to fit pump

no you can not as hot water unregulated ..will get to hot to supply pump

pump seals will fail and maybe motor....

Now I'm confused lol.
So what options do I have for fitting a thermostatic mixer shower with that system?

Could I just take a balanced cold from the tank so that both hot and cold enter the mixer at the same pressure(poor). Or is it a no go.

you are getting plumbing systems totally confused...as per my first post..have you thought about joinery ...gas safe joiner...

Yes you can. It is not ideal however but aqualisa and mira both do sjowers suitable for thos type of installation.

It may well be similar in cost to fitting a shower pump with a cheaper shower valve

Unless your water is heated by solid fuel (unregulated heat source) a shower pump is perfectly fine. The only consideration is header tank size needs to be able to cope with supplying the pump

Rough guideline is if theirs a 50 gallon cwsc then a shower pump is fine, that said you will need to look at usage and pump size as this is a guide only.

If he has a y plan installed then it suggests a cylinder stat would be in operation also... Therefore a regular shower pump would be suitable
