Monoblock tap with old style valve-still possible?

Is it possible to buy a monoblock tap that has the old style valve with rubber washer and NOT with a ceramic valve? I was having a look through the “Screw fix” & “Tool station” catalogues but it is not stated in a clear way what type of valves are fitted to all of the taps.

The description under SOME of the taps are described as ceramic valve, while on the description of the others you have to be Derren Brown to have any idea of the type of valve fitted. 🙂

Yes you still can, best bet is to get your self to the local plumbers merchant and they will be able to show you the options
All the lever type you see will be disc ,quarter turn,as if washer wears lever would move out of position,so you will be looking at the full turn type.

why do you want washer type ?

I know where martin is coming from, quicker and cheaper to fix a washer than mission impossible trying to locate a ceramic valve the customer won't know the brand of.

All the ones in toolstation that look traditional generally are , if not it says quater turn.

John T is spot on here.

Can someone tell me what it means to have a quarter turn or full turn tap please? Is this relevant in some way to the valve type

quarter turn will be disc and full turn will be washer

But again as we say time and time again,if you stay away from the cheap rubbish out there and with a branded, established make you can have washer disc or cork, you will be able to get replacement parts no problem

imho
