2005 Combo 80,000 miles. I'm running this van into ground, its round at Diesel Dave's now. I know the wiper blades are worn and split and they've lasted 8 years so not too bad.

Its had two new front tires last month as they were worn (and flat), the steel wheels were badly pitted on the rims with rust and the tyres couldn't seal properly.

Hate MOTs they always find something & the test is changing if it fails your no longer allowed to move it from garage, I run a 02 transit had it for 11 years could be forced in to replacing it with this new type MOT rule

My cobra ran out of mot just before Christmas . My tester wants around 2 days notice for a mot , we aint had 2 fecing decent days this year for me to take it . We are in April !!!!!!
Try going for a mot with a car with no roof , lol

Just had the call...usual track rod end stuff total £169 but....

He said next year it will require extensive welding underneath around the mounting points, £400 odd quid so maybe he said start looking for another van.

There's no rust on the bodywork though, it still looks in good nick, I've had it 10 years.

How much is it worth to anyone and if anything is it best to sell it now rather than 11 months?

Yes if you can afford be more sellable with a full mot

Might just get it welded next year, I can afford to get a new one but I hate new/newish cars and vans.

If your planning on keeping it get it done in the next few months if you can

Thanks Shaun....you mean while there's still good metal to weld to?

I blame the constant relentless rain, the van has never been dry for more than a day in its life, it just never stops raining.

Yes spot on (before it gets any worse)

It's the salt and rain

If the garage has quoted £400 now it could be more next year. I would go for a new van though for reliability if your earnings depend on it

That depends, is that a verbal warning or is it on the advisory.

Just reminds us how **** the weathers been mate.
I know, you forget my sis lives not that far away from you.
It takes her a round trip of 4hrs to go and fill her water tank up on her boat! Imagine being out in the open wearing waterproofs for 4hrs!

She is happy in a long term relationship, I`ll let you if things change. :D
Don`t know where the boat is at the moment, she keeps moving.
