Are you allowed to or is it like gas if you decommission it then you have to replace it with condensing?

Fine as long as in original footprint of dwelling! No extensions !

I've known of people to move them, your best bet is a quick call to oftec.
I would of thought it would be fine if it is already installed in that property, and registered with that postcode.
It's a no no to re-register an old boiler at a new property, I can't believe people buy second hand boilers :S

It's or one of our customers whose Danesmoor we service annually. Had a call off her today asking if we could sign it off for her as they've had an extension and its been moved. My answer was no because we don't pay money in registrations to sign other people's work off. Apparently whoever installed it can't sign it off, no shock the!

Quick call to the local building control officer then and offer a safety check at a cost of £150. Then condemn it as it's not been commissioned also report builder to labc for moving it into extension - inspector should have seen it though??

Why does it need re registering if it's in the same property?

My LABC dept stated that I can relocate a boiler anywhere at an existing address and do not need to re-register but I cannot bring a boiler on site from elsewhere without written approval from the LABC (which they are unlikely to give for non-condensing), which is what I have done a few times. Nothing was said about not moving into any extensions.
