Discuss Multiple P traps design in the UK Plumbers Forums area at Plumbers Forums

Terrible diagram. But can I set up a bathroom like this. I’ll be getting a plumber to do it but before I call the plumber I’d like to know my options as I’ll be building the walls etc…

I can’t have p trap directly under shower drain due to lack of room. So it runs 60cm to external wall with p trap on outside before it joins sewer.

I’m wanting to also install a sink. Can it have a p trap then join the shower line before its p trap? Or does it need its own direct line to the sewer after its own P trap?

Hope that makes sense.

Make room under the shower tray for a standard shower trap- you said it was a raised tray- how can there not be room?

Best to run the basin waste separately.
Thanks for reply. It’s ground floor with low ceiling so if I raised it higher, I’d be bending down in shower. Cutting into slab etc… is more expense then I’m willing to go for.

I’ll plan to run separate. Can’t go too wrong then

why p trap just fit standed shower trap.
i think in Australia we have to have a p trap legally? I’ll look into this. Does a standard trap just catch debris? Or does it also prevent sewer gasses returning up the line?
