My home boiler has developed explosive ignition!!!

And, i gave it a service to see what the problem was and came to the conclusion it was the igniter. This was because the tip looked all burnt out and there was a black soot mark on the burner where it would ignite. But i changed all and it is still doing it. Any other ideas what it could be? Gas valve maybe?
