myson not powering up

Hi
pilot light on
turn on central heating
room stat up
boiler stat to high

I can hear a click/clang
hear what sounds like pump running
boiler however doesnt boot up, just pilot light.
any help appreciated.

first,turn pilot out and then re light see if then operates
then as pump working ,pursume power to boiler, therefore possible boiler thermostat faulty or solinoid on gas valve,probably gas valve
obviously check boiler not hot/reached temperature and water not circulating

can hear the gas valve click - thinking back after what you said - last time it happened to me I cleaned off the thermocouple.
