Been doing gas safety's at a property for a couple of years and know the property quite well. Went to do new one today and tenant wouldn't let me into the lounge to check the gas fire. First she said the lounge was a tip, fair enough I thought, they have just moved in. I said would it be more convenient to come back another day to which she replied "it's ok the gas fire has been removed". So ok fair enough if they have got another engineer in to remove the fire no problem but she was adamant that I wasn't going in that room. What do I do? If the gas fire is still there it could be AR or ID possibly. If its been removed it could be a DIY job they don't want me to see and could not be capped off properly. Do I take her on her word? Raise it with the landlord? Mark on CP12 that tenant denied access? Any advice appreciated guys.
