Hello. I have just moved into a new flat and was going to replace the toilet today when we found that the old toilet has an extra pipe going into the soil pipe... it tees off of the waste pipe and then enters the soil/stack pipe a few feet away... anyone know what this is for please? Thanks.

dude you just need to look at it again the answer has to be bath, basin, shower or even in some cases a rain pipe:) just follow all the pipes and identifi which is what.

is it on top of the pan soil pipe if it is it is an anti syphon pipe

Thanks. What does an anti syphon pipe do? And can we remove it?

it is there to stop the water trap in the pan from being syphoned out of the pan ,thus allowing foul gasses from the drain entering the property.if at all posible keep it.
