Could anyone out there help me identify this boiler? It needs a new gas valve but I'm not sure that I'll be able to get one. Think boiler is at least 20 years old. Can a gas valve like this be repaired? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the help. It's in a pensioners house and I would say he doesn't have money to change it. Would there be any point taking off the gas valve, opening it up and see if there's anything I can do?

Wouldn't bother if I was you. If it's stuffed, it's stuffed. Nothing lasts forever.
She'll save a fortune bill wise on a new boiler.
Benny do whatever ye think is right. All d best

got any clearer pics of the gas valve as i may have a spare one lying around.

The boiler is a Glow Worm Hideaway. Probably BF.

Download the installation instructions and go through fault finding,
may no be gas valve fault.

Don't think that old SIT valve still available.

There's plenty of spares for the Hideaway, I got a new combustion chamber lid last year and the gas valve is available as well as the thermocouple. Given the choice in my house this would be staying.

Thanks very much for that gas man. I've never seen one that old so I didn't know where to start or even if it was worth starting! I know the old man will really appreciate it if I can get it sorted. It'll be charity work but I think what goes around comes around. Thanks again.

Thanks for that heliotrope, I'll check it out. I'm fairly confident it's the valve as their is 240v at the valve and gas is coming into it but nothing coming through on other side, cheers.

Try warming th gas valve with a hair dryer, they can stick with glycol. Warming the valve sometimes frees the valve.
