Hi there, 1st post..

I have an open fire with a back boiler and I need to get hold of a new damper flap as it has snapped in half and fallen out which means that the fire is constantly heating the water, not much of a problem when using the fire for a couple of hours in the evening, but last week we had it going for most of the day and this resulted in a lot of banging coming from the hot water tank and eventually, pure steam coming out of the tap..

I can not see ANY markings whatsoever on or in the fireplace to identify the type of fire/boiler so I am struggling with where to start looking for a new metal flap.

Could someone possibly give me an idea of any distinguishing features I should be looking for..

Many Thanks

Rich
