Morning everyone

My second job today is a saniflo macerator only connected to a toilet.

Got called out to this one last week and let me tell you that toilet pan was Grimm, it was macerating everything going into the toilet but not pumping out so all the macerated mulch comes back into the toilet.

The pipework was all blocked up, 1) there was scale breaking off the inside the pipework and 2) the tenants were using double thick toilet paper which is a no no.

The tenants sent me a clip of it pumping away then like a suction sound as if it was being sucked back into the macerator but when this clip was sent it was actually being pumped away so nothing was left in the pan.

I know there is a non return valve could this of failed?

Any pointers will be really helpful as I'm not sure how many times I can clear this toilet out, my poor wet vac is hating me right now.

Thanks for looking

There is a non return valve built into the outlet elbow, waste shouldn't be syphoning back into the pan. If the pipework is definitely clear then I would replace the non return valve and go from there. Not saying that the motor hasn't been fecked.

Don't understand why the person who installed it fitted 21mm condensate pipe when it pretty much has a consistent fall to where it drops through in to the stack. Units only 4 months old at the most

Thought it might be the non return valve as no waste should be flowing back into the macerator.

There is a small black mesh filter is this some sort of breather?

Pretty much has a consistent fall? Either it does or it doesn`t.
If it does please explain how the NRV is at fault?
Yes air vent.
