hi All,

a client has specified that she doesn't want to see any plastic parts in a job that we are doing. in particular, when she said this she pointed out a damaged radiator bracket that was made of plastic and had some fake chrome dangling from it.

there are two new towel rads going in the bathroom and i've looked for a towel rad that comes with metal (chrome plated) brackets but they all seem to have plastic ones.

i've found some seperate brackets here:

Towel Radiators, Heated Towel Rails, Brackets for Chrome Flat Towel Radiators Towel Radiator

and i'm wondering if anyone has any input regarding quality or where i can get a towel rad that comes with 'proper' brackets.

i need two of these at about 1500btu each no wider than 500mm and around 800mm tall, priced competitively.

any help is appreciated.

are those solid metal/brass brackets on that link?

I have never seen or fitted a towel rad with metal brackets and can guess that they use plastic as cost reduction

I would tell the customer to buy a towel rad with a decent guarantee on it as most chrome plate plastic is fine

i did phone to ask and they said that they are chrome plated nickel. it so happens that the store is only a few miles down the road so i'm going to have a look tomorrow - will let you know if they are any good.

and thanks for the advice. if the metal ones aren't good enough i'll look for a good guarantee.

can you tell me why there is such a massive price difference between different towel rads? even ones that look pretty much identical can be 3 or 4 times more expensive. just interested in a typical chrome finish 'ladder' type radiator. i have noticed that the absolute cheapest ones do have a questionable finish but i don't see much difference between a mid priced and an expnsive one...

chrome plated nickel is the chrome plating on the product

If they are heavy they are metal

I would be very suprised if they are not plastic
