I am going to be working on a contract that requires a powerflush on every job. Ive never owned one or in fact used one. Can anyone point me in the right direction of what and where to buy? and how would you guys go about using one on an install job?

If you buy one from kamko then they used to throw in a training course for 'free'.

Ive only ever mains flushed when installing, not really keen on paying a fortune, but its a stipulation of the contract, that and class 1 ladders...........its going to be an expensive month methinks

you will need to spend a grand plus or buy second hand.

checkout the kamco website for some good info on the procedure needed to do it propa, checkout the machine instruction manuals.

you will really need enough money from this contract to cover a days money, chems and machine cost's to make it work.

class 1 or en131 ladders should be standard for any tradesman.

En131 isn't that for steps?

should have taken up tiling lol apparently my lyte ladders tradesman ladders are insufficient also need to buy some fall arrestor equipment that you bolt into the wall? ebay it is then for a powerflush machine

I had to do a ladders awareness course for one contract i worked on which gave me a cert in putting a ladder up
Their are basic bill basic vids on youtube on how to flush if you get stuck .

I worked on power flush contract few years ago wasnt a big payer then and can imagine with rates cut wont be to chippa now

If you are going to be contracting to BG (Sounds like them) I'm sure that you can purchase these items from them on a payment plan

norstrom is the dogs round things, costly but good, i always hired one when needed, as far as ladders go, if your working for someone, then they should provide a scaffold tower ladders dont come out v often if I can help it, hitting the deck just hurts.

My norstrom pro flush with internal heater that will work at 60c and external magnets is 10 years old, I've never been to powerflush and failed with it !

Hi Jeff
what model is it? I'm looking at buying a power flush and like the op not sure, what are the external magnets? Do they just fit inside the flush unit and can you recommend any?
thanks.

Hi Thoggy I have the pro flush unit with builtin heater 3kw, and external adey magnets twin, and it can flush and dump at the same time, very good if the boiler in property doesn't work as can flush with machine at 60c

Cheers mate I will have a look on eBay, would you say buy new or second hand?

Depends what condition have a look about, mines 10 years old and I bought mine secondhand
