Hi Guys.

I`m after some advice please.

I`ve just had a new boiler fitted today but the honeywell receiver wont do the actions its been told to do, it also flashing red and only goes green when i press the button.

Just had a go at checking to see if its binding but the red light still flashes like its not communication from the main box, i`ve gone through all the trouble shooting guides but no luck. The guys who put the boiler in today did try but i dont think hes that bothered as he didnt fit the honeywell. It did work perfect before today :cuss:

this sounds like a right stupid question, he has connected the unit into the boiler hasn't he, even if he didn't fit the Honeywell originally he has to connect it up !!!

I think so, the red light is flashing and the green light flashes if i press the box button.

Are you townfan as in Huddersfield.....

Hi there bradleymarky ,,,Yeh the person who fitted your boiler shouldve connected up any existing controls to work with new system, TBH you should get them back to rectify, The thing is b4 anyone fits a boiler they mustve checked what was already inplace and will it work along with new boiler, do you know what type it is ?

The boiler is a heatline capriz. I`ve gone through the testing stages again and everything works until i up the temp on the manual setting, it does click like its trying to fire up but ni joy after that..

Have you tried re binding with the room stat 1m away? Sometimes it struggles to remind if too far away?
If this doesn't resolve the issue and it looks to be wired phone Honeywell and they will go through a different reset and binding procedure.

ill correct that, reset the receiver by holding the button on the front down for 15 sec then re bind unit.

Yes i have gone through the binding procedure and the green light is staying in. When i advance the heating the boiler clicks as though it is trying to fire up but nothing. The boiler is working on its own thermostat and we have hot water and the radiator are working fine but its just the homeywell box thats not playing...

Some honewell roo stats have a small button which needs to be pressed to bind it. I found out after 4hrs not clear on instructions that need a microscope to read

I`ve got the green light on as it should and it does click when its advanced but the boiler wont activate after clicking, i will ring the guy to came back and sort it.

I aslo tried to change the washer on a dripping tap but i couldnt get the top part out where the washer is, ended up ordering some GT85 to try to release it........bad luck comes in threes so i wonder whats next..

Could it not be interference from other wireless things in the house or a neighbours house?

I had to go and look at someones controls a few weeks ago which was doing similar to what you described and it was a matter of changing the 'jumpers' around on the stat and the receiver to create a new frequency.

Just an idea.

If it's a Honeywell and you press the over ride button and the boiler doesn't fire, it's either a duff boiler or wired incorrectly. If the boiler has fired at some time since it's installation, which I'd of thought it must have. It's a duff boiler.
If the controls have failed regardless of when the boiler was installed, it's not the liability of the installation engineer. In other worlds your liable for the cost if a new unit.

Not a direct answer but Honeywell have an app for iPhones out that has a load of wiring guides, fault finding help. It may or may not be of any use to you though

All sorted now, thanks for the help.

Seems like a very helpful forum so i may be back for more advice

Thanks for letting us know, what was exact issue?
I think it just needed to be re_programmed into the new bolier even though the engineer said it has probably just dried out. He didnt go near the thermostat so he wouldnt have tried what i did.

Has the jumper been removed on the boiler, has sender and reciever been paired up on the right frequency

It's likely to be a wiring issue. Headline and other budget boiler use a volt free room thermostat bridge. Honeywell thermostats can cope with this provided the live and neutral connections to the receiver are fed via the 240v mains connection. It is vitally important that the switch connections (A ,B ) are connected to the volt free room thermostat connections only. The two sides will not mix. Might help to find someone with sufficient electrical knowledge.....
