I've just had a new Worcester Greenstar Boiler installed in my kitchen. The pipework comes down from the ceiling and I wanted the pipework to be hidden. But the plumber has run the pipes from the ceiling, around the side of the boiler and then into the bottom. This means that there is three 22mm pipes visible on the right hand side by the back door. He said that the pipework couldn't go behind the boiler, because the Fernox TF1 compact had to be installed on the side of the boiler. When I questioned him, he said it was a grey area. I'm not sure what to do next. I've checked the installation guide and it shows the pipes are hidden behind the boiler.

They can go behind the boiler, maybe not enough room between the ceiling and top of the boiler for the tf1 if they went bwhind the boiler

ch filter could have been fitted over the boiler , should have asked the plumber in the first place to run pipes behind or now will cost you one more day worth of labour cost + some materials to reconfigure pipe work .

Pls post photo

Hi Mike12345 it is always a shame when things dont work out.

I possibly can see both sides as I am an (old) installer with many fellas who help me - we are really quite fair on UKPF so can you take a couple of pics and post them for us to see.

You will then get a few opinions ALL by experts who will give you their take - inc myself

May have been possible to site the TF1 remotely but only your installer would know that.

I'm sure if you ask him back, pay him a days labour and materials he will take the boiler off the wall and re-pipe behind the boiler and site the TF1 above if possible.

But seriously, it's done now. It's not like he's going to come back and re-do it! Just paint the pipes? Box them in?
