Came across some houses where the carcass has been ran in screed. The pipe has been installed directly from outside into the floor and covered in screed, which makes the external pipe underground where it will be elbowed up into the meter box.
My concern is the sleeving. Sleeves should be sealed inside and outside left open. In this case it can't be left open if it's underground. At the moment there is just a pipe poking out a couple of bricks below the air bricks but once the houses are finished, where the pipe exists the property will be buried.
Any thoughts?

just do sleeve as normal, wrap pipework in some tracpipe tape. Normal tape will fall off. tell jon to order it from bes.

Majority of them havent been sleeved, brickwork right up to copper pipe!

Do you first fix like this when running in screed or do you bring the gas pipe out above floor level?

oh so no sleeve. is it in a screed or a concrete slab? i would say its needs a sleeve fitting and the floor will have to come up and the core drill needs to come out. if its in the slab its wrong and needs a new carcus.

trouble is mate as you know they would choke on there morning cuppa if you asked for some 28 or 35mm for sleeving. they should have come up the wall inside and out at normal level really. They have some feking morons working for them dont they.

Lol, they do m8. Its houses so pretty sure it's screed. Apparently they were sleeved but someone has removed them? Does anyone ever seal the inner sleeve anyway (apart from us) because I've lost count of how many times ive asked for fjc and never get it.

ive been waiting 2 weeks for some fjc, i think they want me to forget about it. its only 7 squid a tub for fek sake. i will just refuse to sign the certs if needs be.

Im on a timber framed job and they have decided to use flexible pipe through the wall for the gas. even tho its a single skinned timber frame with no outer brick layer. Its a pain in the arse, i pointed out to them that the shrinking(damaged pipe) issue is when theres a brick skin and they are wasting money but hey its been decided so im fitting them, but do you think i can get a box of screws and some brown plugs.

You gotta buy them yourself if your a subby (so I've heard?)

haha, the day i supply materials or consumables on labour only work is the day i cut my dix off and put its on a hotdog bun. its bad enough they think 10% is the difference between subbing and direct. I normally wait for jon to open his car boot and i grab what i can get hands on. Im on a day rate at the mo so if they want to pay me to stand waiting for materials im happy to oblige :)

One of these Adam?
